Create the Store You Want Without Shopify Theme Limitations
Why ready-made Shopify themes are not the best solution.
If you were redirected here, it is because SHOPMODE merged with Masuga Design in January 2023. Masuga Design now offers Shopify and Craft CMS development.
Shopify's theme marketplace has hundreds of theme templates, and one of those may work well to get your online store off the ground. You might not even need help installing a theme and getting the first iteration of your store online.
But soon, you may feel it's not enough. Your shop feels like one hundred other stores. There's more you would like to do, but you're not sure how to do those things, and don't want to risk breaking anything. Themes are "one size fits all" but you're different, you know it, and your customers should know it too.
A unique business should have a Shopify store whose visual language and features accurately convey the brand identity that makes that business what it is.
You're different, you know it, and your customers should know it too.
You may not have the time or skills for customizing a theme yourself, but it also might not make financial sense to have an in-house developer, either.
Engaging Shopmode for Shopify custom theme development might be the solution you need.
How We’ll Develop Your Custom Shopify Theme
Custom Shopify theme development starts in one of two ways:
- Use an existing theme as a base and customize according to your specifications
- Develop an entirely new theme from the ground up
There are four steps in the Shopify theme development process.
Step 1. Project Analysis
Reach out to us through our contact form to share your theme needs. We'll schedule a time to talk with you about your requirements. We should get enough information to answer questions like "Does an existing theme get things most of the way there? Are requirements so specific that things should start from the ground up?" We'll develop an estimate for the Shopify theme development.
Step 2. Theme Development
Our designers and developers will create a user-friendly, interactive theme for your Shopify store that complies with your requirements, brand guidelines, and your unique business needs. We also play very nicely with other designers. If you have an internal design crew, or contract with a designer, we can work with them to incorporate your brand elements and feel into the theme.
Step 3. Testing
We thoroughly test in our local sandbox environments, and as a preview before enabling it as your live theme.
Step 4. Deployment
With over 16 years of custom web development experience, we know how to responsibly code and develop a project, and a Shopify theme is no different. Our Shopify theme developers keep theme source code in a repository so that all updates and changes are tracked and can be easily corrected if needed.
What Will Your Store Gain From A Custom Shopify Theme?
Custom Shopify themes allow you more complete control over how you present your products and brand to your customer base. It's possible to add features that no other Shopify store has, making the experience of shopping on your site as unique as if the user was physically walking into your storefront.
Shopify custom themes make it easier to quickly change the overall look of your store, whether for a holiday, a new product launch, or a special promotion.
At the very least, a Shopify custom theme helps your business solidify its unique online identity.
FAQs About Custom Shopify Themes
How long will theme development take?
It depends on the extent of the customization. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to get a project into our pipeline. From there, a small number of modifications could take a couple days, up to a number of weeks to coordinate the development and testing of a larger custom theme.
What is the typical cost of a custom theme?
Again, it depends on what the customization entails. A customization maybe involve updating template code, but also might require additional Shopify apps to add features such as ratings or reviews, or displaying Instagram posts, for example. Those apps have their own costs, which can contribute to the cost.
What happens if there is an issue with my theme?
We support our theme work for two weeks after enabling it as the live theme. Shopmode can be engaged beyond that for regular maintenance or further updates.
